Mastercard is the latest in a slew of big companies planning to announce the development a small business-focused artificial intelligence tool, aiming to help entrepreneurs find success.
In an article and video emphasizing the upcoming platform’s inclusivity, the company explained that its Mastercard Small Business AI will provide virtual mentorship and professional guidance for a variety of entrepreneurial subjects.
“Operating a small business is a point of immense passion and pride for entrepreneurs, but it’s certainly not easy,” remarked Mastercard Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Raja Rajamannar in a statement. “Mastercard Small Business AI aims to create mentorship at scale, offering always-on advice from an inclusive set of sources.”
The generative text platform is being developed alongside Create Labs, a technology firm creating solutions for underserved communities, and aims to serve a diverse audience of small business leaders.
To supply its AI with enough information to reliably answer user inputs, Mastercard is relying on its own library of small business content in addition to resources provided by an initial group of four third-party brands: Blavity Media Group, a digital platform serving Black professionals, Group Black, a Black-owned producer of multiple business-focused programs for diverse audiences, Newsweek, the long-running New-York-based publication, and TelevisaUnivision, the largest Spanish-language media network in the world. As the AI tool expands to new audiences, Mastercard plans to partner with additional companies to improve the inclusivity and intelligence of its platform.
The Mastercard Small Business AI will first launch for U.S. small business owners in the coming months, with a global release expected in the near future.
