Marriott International has announced the launch of Four Points Express by Sheraton in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with a London hotel due to open next year.

Aimed at the midscale segment, the Four Points Express by Sheraton brand will offer guests breakfast and complimentary wifi.

Satya Anand, president, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Marriott International said: “Midscale is a resilient industry segment that currently represents almost 1.2 million rooms in EMEA, and 68 per cent of those rooms are unbranded.”

The company has already signed three deals across the UK and Turkey and has signed letters of intent for future Four Points Express hotels in markets such as Poland, Belgium and the UK.

The first UK hotel, the 201-room Four Points Express by Sheraton London Euston, is slated to open next year.

In Turkey, two Four Points Express by Sheraton hotels have been signed in Antalya and Bursa. Four Points Express by Sheraton Antalya Lara will offer 52 rooms and is due to open before the end of this year.

In Bursa, Four Points Express by Sheraton Bursa Nilüfer is close to the highway that connects Bursa, Istanbul and Izmir.

The announcement follows the company’s recent move into the midscale space with City Express by Marriott in the Caribbean and Latin America, and the announcement of its plans for StudioRes in the US and Canada.

Earlier this month Marriott International announced 13 new signings in Turkey.
