Indian markets experienced a lower opening on Thursday following three consecutive sessions of achieving new record highs. Both the Sensex and the Nifty saw a decline, coinciding with a global trend of falling stocks as the previous market rally lost momentum.
At 9:15 am, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 0.28% to 69,458.30 while the NSE Nifty 50 index shed 0.28% to 20,878.35 points.
On Wednesday, the 30-share BSE Sensex surged 357.59 points, or 0.52%, to settle at a new record of 69,653.73.
