Marimekko, a Finnish textile and apparel company, is getting ready to grow its clientele in Asia by launching its first retail location in Singapore at the end of September 2023. To draw both locals and tourists, the area will open at the ION Orchard mall and feature a café concept.

Additionally, the brand is expanding its presence in Asia, which it has deemed “the most important geographical area for Marimekko’s international growth,” by opening an online store there.

The company intends to concentrate on expanding its business in foreign countries from 2023 to 2027, with a focus in particular on the Asia-Pacific region, which is Marimekko’s second-largest market area.

With the planned launch intended to assist further accelerate brand awareness and positioning, the business also stated that it anticipates net sales in the region to increase over the course of this year.

It expands on Marimekko’s already well-established position in Thailand, where the company has worked with Tanachira, a retail company that will support its Singapore operations, for eight years.

In a release, Natacha Defrance, Marimekko’s senior vice president of sales, region east, said, ”Our inspiring stores and creative retail concepts have expanded the Marimekko phenomenon in our key markets, especially in Asia.”
