French travel agency group Marietton Développement is set to take over Bleu Voyages, as the company looks to acquire 100 per cent of the rival travel network after taking a 42.5 per cent stake in 2020.
Marietton Développement – whose brands include TMCs Ailleurs Business and Havas Voyages – is set to formalise the takeover on 29 March, according to local trade news reports.
Bleu Voyages has a strong footing in business travel and reported an annual turnover of €140 million in 2022. The group comprises 30 travel agencies and a dedicated corporate travel arm, Bleu Business, which has seven offices across France in cities such as Paris, Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand.
The TMC was ranked 12th largest in France in BTN Europe’s Leading TMCs 2022 rankings, while Havas Voyages and Ailleurs Business, were ranked third and sixth, respectively.
Ailleurs Voyages managing director David Bernin has been appointed general manager of Bleu Voyages, a position he will assume in addition to his current role, while Bleu Voyages president Jean-Pierre Lorente will become a member of the board and ‘agent’ of Marietton Développement.
Bleu Voyages is already a member of the Selectour network, however the two TMC brands – Bleu Business and Ailleurs Business – will remain separate, according to Bernin, to “capitalise” on key accounts.
“We are deliberately going to keep the two brands in order to maintain prospecting for customers and broader skills. The two entities are perfectly complementary and each has its own expertise,” Bernin told Deplacements pros.
Joining Bernin at the helm of Bleu Voyages is Cédric Jarrige, who has been appointed deputy general manager for business, while Sylvie Fillot will become deputy general manager for tourism.
