County Councillor Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudoe South, is seeking local businesses to help fund a major community project in Eastwoods Park in Prudhoe.

County Cllr Gordon Stewart said: “This park was abandoned for many years but since 2017 through a joint effort by councils and the local community, it is agreed it has been transformed into the jewel in the crown of the town, now loved by so many local people and visitors.

“Throughout the pandemic, it was shown to be a godsend for families and people who reside alone. The latest part of this regeneration is the building of a PlayZone. Funding will come from the Football Foundation and Northumberland County Council, but the scheme requires local support including businesses matching some of the funding.”

A PlayZone is an outdoor space usually the size of one or two tennis courts, which can be used for various sports and activities. PlayZones will be designed and operated based on feedback from the community.

Cllr Stewart would be delighted to hear from any business that would like to support this community project improving lives for years to come.
