A BUSINESS awards scheme launched in Lyme Regis will be expanded this year to include Seaton and Sidmouth.

The awards were first launched as the Lyme Regis Business Awards in 2021, and expanded to also include Charmouth in 2022.

After a number of requests, the awards have now been expanded further to include Seaton and Sidmouth under the branding of the Jurassic Business Awards, with some new categories especially for this popular seaside area, including Hotel of the Year and Tourism Business of the Year.

Said Nigel Reeve of the organisers, MW Business Events and Awards: “We believe that local businesses are the backbone of a town’s economy. They create employment, they innovate, they bring healthy competition and so many are the sort of independent businesses that give town’s their unique identity and we want to help these businesses prosper.

“The key thing is these awards are free to enter, while customers can also nominate a local business for an award. We have ten different categories so there’s a category to suit any business. We encourage as many businesses as possible to enter and local residents to nominate their favourites.

“The awards are funded purely through the sale of category sponsorship. Sponsors have already started signing up, which is great news and anyone interested can contact us via the website’

Entries are now open and will close on Monday, October 30. The winners of the Jurassic Business awards will be announced online at 12pm on Tuesday, December 12, and to give everyone a chance to meet and network there will be a winners and sponsors celebration reception at lunchtime on Thursday, January 18 2024.

To enter or nominate a local business, or to get more information go to the awards website:: www.jurassicbusinessawards.co.uk.
