Lygg, the private aircraft platform for short-haul travel, has raised €3.6 million to expand its routes to more locations “in Europe and beyond,” the company announced.

Helsinki-based Lygg focuses on locations underserved by commercial carriers but with a density of travellers from an anchor corporate client to justify a route, according to the company. Once a route is established, anyone can book a flight on it.

The company plans to use the funds to expand routes to locations including Rotterdam, Stockholm, Aberdeen and Frankfurt, as well as expand its reservations portal, which integrates with booking tools used by travel management companies.

Since launching in June 2022, Lygg has operated between Finland and 12 European countries, according to the company.

The funding round was led by Superhero Capital and joined by private investors as well as the Finnish government, according to Lygg.
