Hello A-J readers!

This week had another slew of interesting business news, and an unusual amount of ice-cream-related news.

In the local ice cream scene, we had Lubbock’s Howdy Homemade Ice Cream announce a temporary closure as they rebrand as a local nonprofit under a new name – Champions Creamery. Rollin’ Cones, the newest ice cream truck in town, detailed what goes into their business and how their opening weekend went.

The Wolfforth gem known as Chez Sami also announced it will open a location in Lubbock within the next three months. The restaurant specializing in French cuisine will open in the former All American Mexican Hideout, 1912 Crickets Ave., which closed after less than two months of business.

New businesses that opened this past week included CryoFit at 5214 98th St., Miss Ann’s Soul Food Kitchen at 1519 34th St., Sub-Zero Bites & Sips at 66th and Indiana Avenue, and West Texas National Bank at 7420 82nd St. Ring Bar Ranch, LLC, also closed their storefront at 7420 82nd St. over the weekend.

Next week will see the monthly roundup of August’s business news, and it will include more than 30 businesses. This might be the most businesses listed on the monthly roundup so far this year.

I’m also planning to speak with the people behind Milestones Development & Play Park, with an article coming out next week, tentatively. Stay tuned for these articles and more.

As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
