Lubbock business news includes vegan restaurant, hospitals, more

Hello A-J readers!

This week we had two medical centers, two Dollar General Markets and two restaurants open. One of the most unique of those new businesses is a vegan restaurant in Tahoka.

On Tuesday, we met with owner Angela Means, though most people recognize her as Felicia from the 1995 movie, “Friday.” The article actually appeared in Thursday’s Avalanche-Journal. She told us why she, and her restaurant, moved to the small West Texas town. Make sure to read the article to learn all the interesting details.

Other openings from this week include:

  • Chipotle, 11909 Quaker Ave., on Dec. 4.
  • UMC Health & Wellness Hospital, 11011 Slide Road, on Dec. 4.
  • Hope Tower of Covenant Medical Center, at the corner of 21st Street and Louisville Avenue, on Dec. 7.
  • Soul Yoga Studio, 4413 82nd St., on Dec. 8.
  • Bricks and Minifigs, 8004 Indiana Ave. Suite B12, on Dec. 9.

Dollar General Markets opened two new stores in nearby towns, which will sell fresh meat and produce. A store in Idalou, at 103 E. 1st St., opened on Dec. 4. A Lockney location at 515 W. US Highway 70, opened on Dec. 9.

Project deadlines are approaching, so I’m hoping to focus on those next week. While you may not see much of my work next week, just know that I’m doing my best to get you some interesting articles to last through the holidays.

As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
