• Todd Olander, farmer and founder of Olander Farms and Root Shoot Malting, ​w​as honored as a member of the 2024 class of the Imbibe 75.​ Imbibe Magazine’s annual best-of list showcases the “people and places that will shape the way we drink in 2024 and beyond​,”​ according to a news release. Olander leads the ​f​ifth generation, 112-acre family farm in Loveland as well as the Root Shoot craft malthouse.

• Human Bean Northern Colorado will support cancer fighters in Northern Colorado with a fundraiser to support the Colorado Eagles Fight Cancer Weekend, which benefits the UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation Oncology Patient Assistance Fund. Through Jan. 21, 100% of proceeds from The Human Bean’s new “Slapshot” drink from all 10 drive-thru locations will be donated to the Foundation’s fund. Named after the Colorado Eagles’ mascot, the drink is purple-colored.

• Avago Technologies International Sales Pte. Ltd., of Singapore has been assigned a​ patent (No. US 11862986 B1, initially filed July 25, 2022) developed by five inventors, including Marc Keppler of Windsor, for “Rectifier buck with external fet.”

​• Micron Technology Inc. of Boise, Idaho, has been assigned a patent (No. US 11862274 B2, initially filed March 1, 2023) developed by three inventors, including Bruce A. Liikanen of Berthoud,for “Determination of state metrics of memory sub-systems following power events.”

• Xilinx Inc. of San Jose, Calif., has been assigned a patent (No. US 11861171 B2, initially filed April 26, 2022) developed by three inventors, including Paul R. Schumacher of Berthoud, for “High-throughput regular expression processing with capture using an integrated circuit.”
