MAINSTREET/CHAMBER News:
Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District, as well as the Chamber of Commerce, are pleased to announce the launch of the next Business Accelerator. Entrepreneurs with a goal of opening a storefront in Los Alamos and White Rock are encouraged to sign up for this program through Dec. 31.
This year’s cohort will first and foremost focus on Food & Beverage, but all are welcome to participate but should be at a stage where they have begun working on a Business Plan. The application may be accessed at www.LosAlamosMainStreet.com/business-accelerator.
Phase I will begin in January, and includes a free, eight-week course that covers everything from customer discovery and operational strategies to permitting, lease agreements and finances. Although this content will have a heavy focus on Food & Beverage, it will include vital information, applicable to all businesses operating in Los Alamos County. After the Phase I classes, Phase II will focus on food and beverage based businesses by giving residency opportunities in a commercial kitchen.
Sponsored by the New Mexico Economic Development Department through its LEADS program, New Mexico MainStreet, Enterprise Bank & Trust, Del Norte Credit Union and Triad National Security (LANL CPO) this program, now in its third year, has educated over 20 would-be business owners and assisted five in opening storefronts in Los Alamos and White Rock.
