BRIDGEPORT — Local business owner Jason Wilson reflected on what he and his businesses are thankful for this year.
Wilson is the owner of Wilson Funeral Home and Wilson Furniture. He recently opened up a new Ashley Furniture store at The Highlands.
Wilson said that he is most thankful for his health and the health of his family, employees and friends.
“We’re blessed to have our health,” he said.
About one year ago, Wilson Furniture in Bridgeport caught fire.
“It’s been a difficult year,” he said.
Wilson said that he is thankful for everyone who supported Wilson Furniture during the difficult time.
“Without each other, we would not have made it through this past year with our fire and everything that happened,” he said.
Wilson said that his new store at The Highlands was made possible by a lot of community support.
“Now that we’ve opened up a new furniture store, the Ashley Home Store up at the Highlands, we are thankful, and we are truly thankful for our customers, folks who have supported us both in Bridgeport at our store, pre-fire and post-fire and now at our new store at the Ashley Home Store at the Highlands,” he said.
“We’re blessed to have the people around us, our friends, our employees that we work with and of course our customers who we’re here to serve every day,” Wilson said.
The new Ashley Furniture Store had its grand opening on Saturday.
The store is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The store is located in the former Bed Bath and Beyond storefront in the Power Center at the Highlands.
Wilson Furniture in Bridgeport will remain open.
The store is located at 227 North Lincoln Avenue in Bridgeport and is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
