India visit: US secretary of state Antony Blinken and defence secretary Lloyd Austin are in India for the annual 2+2 ministerial dialogue meeting between Washington and New Delhi.

Fedspeak: US Federal Reserve chair Jay Powell will speak at the IMF’s annual research conference in Washington. The presidents of the Atlanta, Richmond and St Louis Fed branches will also be on the circuit. 

Earnings: Fox News and Wall Street Journal parent News Corp, and Tapestry, owner of luxury retailers Coach and Stuart Weitzman, will report earnings before the opening bell.

Jobless claims: Initial applications for US state unemployment aid, a proxy for lay-offs, are expected to have held relatively steady last week at 218,000, compared to 217,000 in the previous week.

Mexico inflation: Price growth in Mexico is projected to have moderated in October, with economists predicting its annual inflation rate to have decreased to 4.28 per cent from 4.45 per cent.
