Results: Analysts expect Singapore-based superapp Grab to report a loss of 5 cents a share, compared with a loss of 15 cents in last year’s second quarter. The company is forecast to post $546mn in revenue, which would be a 70 per cent jump year on year.

Markets: Futures pointed lower in Hong Kong, while stocks in Tokyo were broadly flat. US stocks fell on Tuesday, with banks leading declines as investors assessed recent ratings downgrades and looked ahead to the Jackson Hole economic conference this week. Wall Street’s benchmark S&P 500 closed down 0.3 per cent, with financials dragging the index lower and most other sectors in the red.
