Liu Song becomes Treaty Director of Volante Global’s Singapore branch – Reinsurance News

Liu Song has been appointed to the role of Treaty Director of Volante Global’s Singapore unit, where he will have a focus on treaty reinsurance underwriting for the company.

Song’s appointment was announced by Amy Fu, the MD of the Volante Global Singapore office.

Volante Singapore is a multi-class, multi-territory international MGA and Lloyd’s syndicate.

The unit was launched in June, earlier this year.

The unit offers re/insurance solutions across Asia Pacific, Greater China, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan through Volante’s own A-rated Lloyd’s Syndicate 1699.

In the role, Song will be based in Singapore, where he will have a direct focus on enhancing the company’s offering of treaty business in Southeast Asia, Greater China, and South Korea.

An experienced veteran, Song joins the firm following a seven year stint at China Reinsurance Group Corporation’s Singapore branch, where he served as Deputy COO and Senior Underwriting Manager.

After joining the company in 2016, Song served as a Manager, where he focused on treaty underwriting.

Prior to joining the company’s Singapore branch, Song worked at China Reinsurance Group Corporation as an Associate Underwriter of International Business, where he was based in Beijing.
