Lincoln-based senior care provider Tabitha on Thursday announced a new leader.
The organization said its board of directors selected Brian Shanks to fill the role of president and chief executive officer.
Shanks, who has been Tabitha’s chief financial officer for the past four years, will officially move into the role on Jan 1., succeeding interim President and CEO Joyce Ebmeier, who is retiring. Former CEO Christie Hinrichs left in September to become president and CEO of Boulder, Colorado-based retirement community Frasier.
Shanks, who is a Lincoln native, brings more than 30 years of extensive experience in finance including the areas of real estate and investments. Most recently, Shanks played a major role in the construction and implementation of two major living communities, Tabitha at Prairie Commons in Grand Island and Sage InterGenerational Living in Lincoln, as well as a Hospice and Home Health Care joint venture with Immanuel in Omaha and seeing Tabitha through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to working at Tabitha, Shanks was the associate director of housing at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
