An operator who asked not to be named said the prices of ingredients have not increased overnight but slowly “and we felt the pinch when it reached about 30pc higher than before.”
He cited condensed milk (1kg) which cost RM6.40 while evaporated milk (390gm) at RM3.80. Similarly the price of coffee and tea of good grade also increased to RM20 and RM12.
“Adding to this some costumers required to have strong (kaw) coffee and this needed more coffee powder in the preparation,” he said.
