Knowit has signed Diversity Charter Sweden’s diversity and inclusion statute in order to further strengthen and broaden its equality work. Knowit is teaming up in a long-term collaboration with the ambition of increasing competence in the company through Diversity Charter’s extensive education platform and exchanging experiences with other companies in order to create a more inclusive society
Diversity Charter is a European network created to exchange experiences in diversity and inclusion matters. Up until today, more than 15,000 companies and organizations have joined the network. Diversity Charter Sweden was established by a group of companies in 2010 and has been contributing to disseminating knowledge and sharing experiences of discrimination ever since.
“The collaboration with Diversity Charter Sweden gives us access to events, seminars, and education materials that help us build on the equality work we have been conducting for several years. With Knowit now having signed Diversity Charter’s diversity statutes, we have undertaken to create and maintain an inclusive work environment for our employees, which is directly linked to business benefits,” says Per Wallentin, CEO and President of Knowit.
Knowit has been working actively with equality matters since 2017 and in 2019 won AllBright’s award as the most equal listed company. The collaboration with Diversity Charter is an important step in maintaining and developing the work on the journey toward an inclusive workplace without differentiation based on gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, disabilities, or faith.
Diversity Charter Sweden’s operations are mainly performed through seminars and member meet-ups, with the aim of increasing competence and exchanging experiences. In May each year, European Diversity Month is observed throughout the European Union, with members joining together to shine a light on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in society. During the month, various events and activities are performed at member companies.
“We are pleased to welcome yet another member into our network. Knowit has made an impressive journey when it comes to equality. We are also convinced that Knowit will, on its continued journey, be able to benefit from the competence and knowledge within Diversity Charter to increase both creativity and awareness regarding these matters throughout its organization,” says Anna Carlsson Sigstedt, General Secretary Diversity Charter Sweden.
The Signatory Event 2023 will take place on October 5, when Knowit will be welcomed as one of the new members.
