Klarna, the AI-powered global payments network, has rolled out several new features aimed at informing and empowering consumers. One key addition is the conscious shopping dashboard, providing users access to a range of sustainability-focused offerings provided by Klarna.

This dashboard highlights ‘Shop Circular’ brands, emphasising companies with circular services to minimize waste and optimise product usage. Additionally, it incorporates the Co2e footprint tracker, allowing consumers to assess the environmental impact of their purchases. The dashboard also includes editorial and educational content designed to enhance consumers’ understanding of sustainable practices.

“This more granular analysis encompasses every stage of a product’s lifecycle, starting from raw material extraction, progressing through processing and assembly, and culminating in final delivery to the end user,” stated Klarna.

Additionally, Klarna has introduced intelligent search and compare tools, allowing consumers to compare prices across thousands of retailers. These tools enable users to filter product searches by various features, including colour, size, customer ratings, and shipping options.

Notably, Klarna’s sustainability certification filters highlight products with third-party certifications such as Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Klarna has also added a dedicated filter to spotlight conscious brands with sustainability ratings of 4 (good) or 5 (great) based on evaluations by Klarna’s partner, Good On You.  “Evaluating 500-plus data points, Good On You assesses the most critical social and environmental issues facing the fashion industry today to evaluate a brand’s impact on people, the planet and animals—rating each brand on a five-point scale ranging from ‘we avoid’ to ‘great,’ said Klarna.

These filters are available in several countries, including the US, UK, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
