An incredible woman was left shocked on Good Morning Britain (GMB) on Friday, April 28, after an unexpected surprise. Presenters Kate Garraway and Adil Ray surprised interviewee Kate Elliot, who has spent 17 years helping young people with their business ideas, with the GMB’s Volunteer of the Year award.
Pierce Brosnan also congratulated Kate on her award in a short video, after Kate was brought onto the popular morning show under “false pretences.” Following the video, she deemed Brosnan as “gorgeous”, adding that she was “blown away” after receiving the award.
Garraway also spoke about how she was on the judging panel for this award, and said they were “moved” by Kate’s “extraordinary work” with the Prince’s Trust.

Talking to Kate, Adil admitted: “I have a bit of a confession to make actually to be honest with you Kate. We brought you here today under false pretences, I want you to watch a little video from somebody very, very special.”
After the clip was shown to her, she was left gobsmacked. Garraway added: “You see. You thought you were here to talk about the Prince’s trust generally, we’re here to talk about you.
“Your work has been so extradentary and I was lucky enough to be on the judging panel that picked you, and I can tell you, we were very moved by what you’ve done.” She added: “Not just Pierce Brosnan.”
Asked what she thought of Brosnan, Kate said: “Oh, he’s gorgeous. I mean there’s no debating that. It’s a shock.”
Asked about how she feels about winning this award, she explained: “Blown away and shocked. I wasn’t expecting that.”
She joked: “And it’s too early in the morning for all these surprises.”
