Continuing its expansion into new markets, JYSK will today open its first two stores in Turkey, at Istanbul shopping malls Torium AVM and Oasis Cadde.

Since JYSK opened its first store in Denmark in 1979, the company’s store portfolio has grown to more than 3200.

“We look forward to bringing our great Scandinavian offers to the people of Turkey. We have long wanted to expand our business further outside of Europe, and we see great potential for JYSK in the Turkish market. We strongly believe that our Scandinavian assortment will appeal to customers in Turkey and as always, we will adapt parts of our assortment to match the local market,” says Jan Bøgh, president and CEO, JYSK.

“Our first two stores are only the beginning of our expansion plans, as we see many opportunities for more JYSK stores in Turkey.”

Across the 48 countries in which JYSK operates, the stores in 28 are operated directly by JYSK, with the rest run on a franchise-based model.

“We have a strong business model that works well both in our own countries and for our franchisees. One of our biggest strengths is our small-store concept, which makes it possible for us to be closer to customers and make their shopping experience as easy as possible,” says Jan.

JYSK will also launch an ecommerce store for Turkey, which will offer customers an extended assortment, with various delivery options.
