TOKYO — Japan is moving to tackle its pervasive empty house problem with subsidies covering one third of renovation costs for vacant dwellings.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism significantly revised measures in fiscal 2023 to support large-scale renovations by companies or non-profit organizations.
