Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn has revealed details about the past of Guardians member Rocket and his old friends.

In a series of posts on his Twitter account, Gunn went into detail about who will be playing the younger version of Rocket and his friends. Linda Cardellini (Scooby-Doo) plays Lylla, Mikaela Hoover (The Suicide Squad) plays Floor, and Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing) plays Teefs. Gunn noted that audiences of early screenings reported the friendship between Rocket and his companions to be one of their favorite aspects of the movie.

A Twitter user pointed out that the director’s brother, Sean Gunn, now plays two roles — the Ravager/Guardian Kraglin and Rocket, as Sean Gunn does Rocket’s mocap. James Gunn replied and revealed that his brother is “the voice of Young Rocket as well.”

Another user asked Gunn if Linda Cardellini is the first actor to have two different roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she plays Hawkeye’s wife Laura Barton and now Lylla. The director responded and explained that Stephen Blackehart played two roles between the first and second Guardians of the Galaxy movies, while Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh played a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and a different one in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Finally, when a user said to not forget Bradley Cooper, who voices the current version of Rocket, Gunn clarified who all is voicing Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Cooper voices “adolescent Rocket,” Sean Gunn voices “young Rocket,” and Noah Raskin voices “baby Rocket.”
