INTI International University of Malaysia has expressed interest in setting up a campus in Sri Lanka under the ‘Edu – Tourism’ Program initiated by the State Tourism Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage.
INTI International University and Colleges are private institutes that offer tertiary education within campuses located in Kuala Lumpur and several other locations in the country. INTI International University Vice President, Jesus Cuevas Tinawin visited Sri Lanka recently to discuss this proposal.
“We are keen to discuss with the authorities in Sri Lanka and private education institutes like Esoft and Horizon Campuses to set up our latest Campus in Sri Lanka,” said Vice President, Tinawin. At INTI, we believe in an education that will empower you for life, and experience the quality education that prepares you to face the challenges in the global market. He also met Minister Diana Gamage to discuss this proposal.
“We have recently launched the ‘Edu – Tourism’ Program under our Ministry taking a further step to encourage overseas students to come to Sri Lanka for their studies. While they are studying they could also travel and explore Sri Lanka,” said the State Minister of Tourism, Gamage.
“We have already successfully concluded discussions with local education institutes on offering not only Bachelor’s degree but also Masters and Doctorate level education on Tourism,” said Private Secretary to State Tourism Minister, Dr. Arosha Fernando.
“We are very much keen on establishing ‘tourism’ as one of the key disciplines to study in Sri Lanka as it will bring forex to Sri Lanka,” he added.
