At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, Intel launched their 13th Gen HX and H series of laptop processors featuring advanced chips with a maximum of 24-core CPU (the first of its kind for a laptop), and support for DDR5, PCIe Gen5, and more.
The company also presented the 13th Gen Intel Core P and U series of processors, featuring up to 14-core CPU designs with increased Iris Xe onboard graphics. Altogether, Intel unveiled 32 new mobile processors.

The 13th-generation of its mobile processor family, headed by the new i9-13980HX that is the company’s first 24-core laptop processor.
It is claimed to be the swiftest laptop processor in the world, with a turbo frequency of 5.6 GHz and 11% faster single-task and 49% faster multitasking performance.
Intel Core i9-13980HX the flagship laptop computer CPU
The Intel Core i9-13980HX is the flagship laptop processor and comes with a 24-core CPU that consists of 8 powerful P cores and 16 energy-efficient E cores.
The processor supports up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM, and it also features technologies like Thunderbolt 4. It is possible to overclock the CPU as well.
New 13th Gen desktop processors
Alongside the introduction of the latest laptop computer processors, Intel also revealed 13th Gen desktop processors with 35-watt and 65-watt variations for mainstream consumers at a reasonable price.
These CPUs have the capability to reach up to 24 cores and 5.6GHz clock speed, in addition to the support for both DDR5 and DDR4 RAM.
Next-generation specs for Evo certifications
Intel has unveiled the specifications for their Evo certification program for laptops with their 13th Gen Intel processors. The laptops will offer optimal mobile performance, plus an enhanced video conferencing experience with features such as Bluetooth LE audio and the Intel Connectivity Performance Suite.
Moreover, these laptops may well be compatible with Intel Unison, which allows users to receive calls, texts, and notifications from an Apple or Android device to a Windows laptop.
Intel has collaborated with PC accessory producers to develop specifically designed peripherals such as Thunderbolt 4 docks, monitors, storage devices and wireless headsets designed for Intel EVO-certified laptops
Intel N-series processors
To accompany their high-performance processors for laptops, Intel additionally launched the Intel Core i3 N-series, which uses 7th generation technology.
A laptop with this processor is capable of providing up to 10 hours of video playback on a single charge, and is equipped with the latest wireless connectivity such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as having the option for flexible memory.

To keep up with the competitive processor market, Intel has included a disclaimer that the “worlds-fastest” claim is accurate only as of December 2022.
