(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 2 – After several months of falls, Italy’s
annual inflation rate rose to 8.3% in April, up from 7.6% in
March, according to preliminary data released by Istat on
Tuesday.
The national statistics agency said that acceleration was mainly
mainly due to an upswing in the prices of non-regulated energy
products, which went up from +18.9% to +26.7%.
It said its consumer-price index increased by 0.5% in April in
month-on-month terms. (ANSA).
