Golden time for Indian aviation! India is all set to become a major global aviation hub, says Girish Nair, Partner, KPMG in India. Recently Air India placed the largest ever order for aircraft in the history of global aviation. The Tata group owned airline announced a deal to purchase 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing – an approximately Rs 6.4 lakh crore deal that will create several lakh jobs in many countries. Parallel to that, India will also be opening several new airports in the coming years to expand regional connectivity – particularly to Tier III cities.
