ImagineMiah Africa, in collaboration with The CoHub Ibadan, has successfully launched the first cohort of the Elevate1m Incubation Programme—an initiative of ImagineMiah Africa’s Elevate1m project.

This program is aimed at supporting 1 million SMEs and startups across Nigeria and Africa, driving sustainable economic growth, reducing unemployment, and fostering a conducive ecosystem for growth in Oyo State.

The Elevate1m Incubation Programme prioritized empowering women entrepreneurs, making a significant impact in Oyo State’s business landscape. It fosters economic growth, reduces unemployment, and nurtures an environment conducive to sustainable development.

According to the Business Development Manager at ImagineMiah Africa, Jeremiah Oluwarinu the three-month program offered aspiring entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to receive intensive training, mentorship, and guidance from accomplished facilitators, industry experts, and successful business leaders.

The Incubation Programme prioritized women-owned businesses, with 80% of the selected participants being women entrepreneurs. This focus underscores the significance of empowering women in driving economic growth and building a more inclusive and diverse entrepreneurial landscape.

Notable facilitators such as Jeremiah Adeyemi Oluwarinu, Tosin Godwin, Francis Ajadioni, Kolade Adepoju, Agbontaen Mary Osaretin Ubongabasi, Oni Oluwatoyin Bamidele, and Kelvin Edionwe committed their time and resources to equip the selected participants with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive market.

An exciting feature of the program was the captivating business tour to Afrimash—a leading Agritech Startup in Ibadan. This tour provided participants with firsthand insights into the operations of successful businesses, inspiring them to apply practical knowledge and innovative ideas to their ventures.

The highly anticipated Demo Day was a highlight of the program, where participants showcased their business ideas and solutions to esteemed judges. The event was broadcasted live on the internet, and an impressive panel of judges, including Dr. Charles Nwishienyi, Dr. Oyenike Abiodun Adeleke, Atinuke Smith, and Oluwamayowa Oshidero, provided invaluable feedback and encouragement, fostering a competitive spirit and nurturing the participants’ confidence.

In recognition of the unwavering dedication of facilitators and judges in supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs, ImagineMiah Africa and The CoHub Ibadan proudly presented them with the prestigious Certificate of Recognition and Excellence. This accolade exemplifies their commitment to fostering a dynamic ecosystem for growth in Oyo State.

Mr Jeremiah Adeyemi Oluwarinu, Founder/Business Development Manager at ImagineMiah Africa, finalized by saying “We are already preparing and excited for the next Cohort in 2024 and are open to sponsors and partners. Through our services driven by the SDGs, we remain focused on our vision of supporting 1 million SMEs/Startups by 2030.”

The Elevate1m Incubation Programme has made a remarkable impact in Oyo State, empowering women entrepreneurs, inspiring innovation, and cultivating a thriving entrepreneurial community. As ImagineMiah Africa looks to the future, the organization is committed to continuing its efforts to drive economic growth and create more opportunities for SMEs and startups in the region.
