IHG Hotels & Resorts is to open a new InterContinental property in the centre of Rome next month.
The UK-based hotel company is set to unveil InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace in May, which will mark a return of the InterContinental luxury brand to the Italian capital after a seven-year gap.
The property, located within a historic building on Via Veneto, will feature 160 rooms and suites, alongside a range of food and beverage outlets including Scarpetta NYC, Charlie’s Rooftop, and Anita’s Bar and Lounge.
The InterContinental brand has not had a property in Rome since 2016 when it operated InterContinental De La Ville Roma, which is now a Rocco Forte hotel.
IHG has also increased its presence in Rome with the opening of Six Sense Rome in March. The 96-room hotel is the first Six Senses property in Italy.
