IHG has announced a slate of voco hotel signings across Europe as the brand’s growth continues.

Launched in 2018, the voco brand has more than 100 properties signed and opened globally.

With recent signings and openings in France, Spain, the UK and Ireland, Austria, Portugal, and Belgium, the new additions will take Europe’s voco hotels opened and signed properties to 37.

This is a 25 per cent increase in signings since the end of 2022, when it had 28 properties signed.

IHG says it has a global ambition of reaching 200 voco properties by 2028.

Willemijn Geels, VP development, Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Each voco hotels property that gets added to our portfolio is a real sign of the confidence from our owners across multiple markets in the brand.” 

European signings include

• voco Belfast, which will be a brand debut into Northern Ireland. The 120-room hotel is scheduled to open its doors in early 2024 in partnership with Cliste Hospitality;
• voco Letchworth Hall, UK, which dates back to 1620. The 87-key property is set across eight acres of grounds overlooking Letchworth Golf Club in Hertfordshire and is due to open next year;
• voco Zeal Exeter Science Park, UK is IHG’s first lifecycle net zero carbon hotel and is scheduled to open in early 2025;
• voco Granada, Spain will be located next to the Convention Centre of Granada. The 166-key hotel is due to open in 2025.

Recent and upcoming voco openings

• voco Brussels City North, Belgium, is located on an “innovation campus” called Living Tomorrow, 10 kilometres from the city centre. The 92-room hotel has “luggage robots”, meeting space, a bar, restaurant, gym and terrace. Opened in September;
• voco Vienna Prater, Austria is a 141-room hotel with a full-service restaurant, bar and three meeting rooms. The hotel opened this month and is IHG’s second voco hotel in Austria;
• voco Madrid Retiro, Spain opened this month and offer 197 guest rooms, hybrid meeting rooms, tapas bar, and a private rooftop;
• voco
  Paris Porte de Clichy, France in the north-west area of Paris has 264
  rooms, a restaurant, a rum bar and 11 meeting rooms, as well as a
  co-working space;
• voco Algarve Formosa Park, Portugal is due to open by the end of the
  year and marks the voco hotels brand’s debut property in Portugal;
• voco Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa, UK which opened in May this year is a historic country house hotel an hour from central London.
