IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO — Idahoan Foods, a manufacturer of value-added potato products, is releasing Idahoan Potato Shreds, a new line of microwavable snack cups.

The potato shreds, which are designed to offer a gluten-free alternative to similar macaroni products, initially will be available in triple cheese and Hidden Valley Original Ranch flavors. Idahoan’s cups join the company’s existing portfolio that includes instant mashed potato packets, mashed potato snack cups, casserole mixes and more.

“Triple Cheese and Hidden Valley Original Ranch are going to have widespread appeal out of the gate, but this is an expandable platform,” said Ryan Ellis, vice president of retail marketing and business development at Idahoan Foods. “Beyond being gluten-free, potatoes are an excellent canvas for mixing with sauces and flavors, and consumers are increasingly searching for satisfying and convenient snack options, which makes the new Potato Shreds a perfect addition to our product line up.”

In addition to the potato shreds, Idahoan is launching a mashed potato variety with Hidden Valley Original Ranch seasoning. Both products are set to roll out into national retailers beginning in September.
