IAWPA drums support for SDGs, begins UN support walk

The International Association Of World Peace Advocates,IAWPA, has urged Nigerians and other Africans to be committed towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, of the United Nations.

The global peace advocacy group, also called on citizens to prioritise peace and stability on the African continent.
This was stated in a statement announcing the commencement of its Support Road Walk in Abuja today.

According to the statement, “Our Association remains the foremost promoters of the activities of the UN and can unequivocally state that the UN has performed creditably well and we are proud of their multifaceted activities through their various agencies in Nigeria hence the decision of the African Directorate, ably led by the Director of African Affairs, Amb John Metchie, to direct all country chapters to embark on this awareness walk aimed at creating awareness in order to ensure that their contributions to peace and stability within the African continent is appreciated.”

The group directed all members of the association and peace loving and patriotic Nigerians to join in the walk which will commenced on 24th Oct. 2023.

Expected to make special appearance at the event slated for 10am Tuesday in Abuja, is His Eminence, Ambassador, Dr. John Metchie, the Association’s African Director who is also the Deputy Commander General of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, NHFSS.

According to the schedule of events, the walk which is taking place under the chairmanship of Prof Chidi Ehiriodo, commences at the Unity Fountain and ends at the UN House at the Central Business District, CBD, at the Nigerian capital city.

Also participating in the walk are Prophetess Happiness Michael Ebuba (Abuja coordinator), Amb. Nkpe John Moses and Amb. Kabiru Jega, among many others.

IAWPA is a global peace advocacy group having Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2019.
