An ongoing Food and Beverage West Africa Exhibition organised by BtoB events has been hailed as a significant platform for the country’s economy, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The exhibition held in Lagos has brought together various international manufacturers and SMEs in the food and beverage industry, providing them with a platform to showcase their products and services.
The event, which will last for three days, attracts a large number of visitors from Nigeria and other countries and features wide-range of food and beverage products, including locally produced wine, fruit juices, dairy products and baked goods.
The exhibition was not only an opportunity for SMEs to showcase their products but also to engage with potential customers, distributors, and investors.
Many SMEs said they have been receiving inquiries about their products and gaining new business leads. Speaking at the event, Exhibition Manager, BtoB Events, Brad Smith, said the exhibition was an opportunity to find new products not yet in the market, which is better for end users and the economy.
“We have 30 countries from all over the world at the exhibition in Lagos looking to connect with food and beverage professionals who want to bring new products into the market,” he said
Smith stressed that the new products introduced at the exhibition would boost the nation’s economy.
“It is a fantastic platform for them to develop new trades and relationships in Nigeria, different companies from outside Nigeria like the UK from Europe from Asia, India, Pakistan, Middle East and Russia, everywhere all over the world are here to build new relationships and boost the economy
“It is a pleasure to provide all of these opportunities to companies and business owners across West Africa to grow the economy and take every economy in West Africa further,” he said
Chairman, Onitsha market, Victor Nwawuzie, who declared the event open, said the exhibition has allowed Nigerian marketers to partner with foreign marketers by bringing their products to Nigeria.
“The exhibition will save Nigerian marketers the cost of travelling across the world to bring in the products, rather the partnership will aid importation of the products to Nigeria,” he said.
Nwawuzie added that some of the products not present in Onitsha market would be taken there.
Also, a communication expert at the International Trade Centre, Richard Eke-Metoho said companies from Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Togo would use the platform to meet potential buyers as well as reach the international market.
Overall, the event is expected to have a lasting impact on Nigeria’s economic landscape, providing opportunities for local businesses to grow and contribute to the country.
