Video transcript:

Eric Scalzo: What most excited me about Holland & Knight and the combination when we were going through the courting process, was that every meeting that I sat down with Holland & Knight attorneys, I thought to myself, “This could be a Waller partner.” It just seemed like a natural fit. We had great synergies. The cultures of the two firms really meshed together.

Jennifer Weaver: The combination with Holland & Knight is really a game changer for us. Having that national platform is really helpful because we have a national practice and we always have. But having additional capabilities across the country is something that I think clients appreciate.

Jeff Mittleman: There’s a couple of things that we gain as a result of the merger. One is different skill sets within healthcare and that those opportunities, people are so excited about that we’ve already started partnering together. We’ve had meetings with clients and with laterals that we probably wouldn’t have had. And everybody is working as a team already, and really before the combination was finalized. And culturally, I think that the firms are really perfect fits. It’s hard to imagine two firms really having similar cultures more than ours.

Brent Hill: I think what I’m most excited about is the culture at Holland & Knight, very similar to legacy Waller’s culture, and the unified goal of building the best healthcare practice in the country.

Eric Scalzo: The combined firm puts the most healthcare lawyers in one place in the country, and I think we’re going to be a powerhouse healthcare firm.

Jeff Mittleman: The combination and being here in Nashville is a great opportunity for the firm because of the growth in this market. We can cover really a range of all issues, from litigation to business to real estate to government, and I don’t think anybody compares to that now.

Colbey Reagan: The best thing about this merger is really that Holland & Knight had a complementary practice to ours. We had a complementary practice to Holland & Knight. So this is two great healthcare firms with two great and very complementary healthcare practices that can now combine those practices to become the greatest healthcare law firm in the United States.

Brent Hill: Holland & Knight as a firm has a middle market strategy very similar to legacy Waller’s middle market strategy. So that has really helped us keep our clients excited, expand offerings to legacy Waller clients. And I think that strategy makes us more of a formidable competitor.

Eric Scalzo: Waller combined with Holland & Knight presents a platform for our clients and for our attorneys to take the practice to the next level. Our healthcare experience and our healthcare reputation, combined with their national platform and their specialists who have healthcare experience, I think combined, really set us up for providing superior client service nationwide.

Jeff Mittleman: I think in the next five years, there’s so much we can accomplish, and that’s what I’m excited about. You know, in some ways the combination for me has rejuvenated me, and I think a lot of people in the firm as we focus on healthcare as an industry, we have so much we can accomplish over the next five years. And then now with the combined group, we see it as a possibility. The opportunities are limitless.
