HHM promotes Clement, adds Dispensia and Krekeler

HHM Certified Public Accountants, a full-service CPA and consulting firm with locations in Chattanooga, Cleveland and Memphis, has named Karen Clement as a tax director in its Chattanooga office.

Clement, a certified public accountant, brings over 20 years of tax experience to the firm. She will provide tax and compliance services to clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, retail, professional service organizations and high net worth individuals. Clement is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and is a member of the The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of CPAs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Karen to our tax leadership team,” Donnie Hutcherson, managing partner of HHM CPAs, said in an announcement on Clement’s promotion.

HHM also announced that Madison Dispensia is joining the Cleveland office as a staff accountant and Lori Krekeler is joining the Chattanooga office as a processing supervisor.

Burger wins leadership award

Cempa Community Care CEO Shannon Burger has been recognized by the Tennessee Primary Care Association with the 2023 Kathy Wood-Dobbins Executive Leadership Award at the organization’s annual conference in Nashville.

The award, “recognizes an individual, either a member or nonmember of the association, who, within their role as executive leader of an organization, advocates vigorously for health centers and their patients,” according to the association. Founded in 1976, the the association strives to improve access across Tennessee to primary health care services “through leadership, advocacy and support as the voice of community health centers.”

“To earn this recognition from the TPCA is a career highlight and a validation of the work we pursue every day at Cempa,” Burger said in a statement. “Cempa and the TPCA are mutually beneficial organizations, and I am so glad that my personal passion to make primary care more accessible has been a help to both organizations and the people they serve.”

In 2021, Cempa earned the association’s Organizational Excellence Award.
