BAY CITY, MI – After a devastating fire ripped through two businesses and three apartments in the Midland Street Business District, the Bay City community rallied together to support those who were affected.
On April 4, crews responded to a structure fire at the corner of Linn and Vermont Street. The building housed Mode’s Tavern and JR’s All Star Haircuts for Men as well as apartments. Intense smoke and persistent flames kept crews busy as they battled the blaze throughout the morning into the afternoon and the building sustained significant damage.
Restaurant owners and more have stepped up to the plate since Tuesday’s fire and have been hard at work collecting donations and setting aside portions of their sales.
The Bay City community in turn has shown its support by showing up and dining out in full force. This could be seen Tuesday night at O’s Pub & Grill in Auburn. The restaurant was packed around supper time with patrons after the restaurant announced that it was donating 100% of its profits that night to Mode’s.
