KUALA LUMPUR: Hengyuan Refining Co Bhd (HRC) has appointed Zulhazmi Mohamad as acting chief executive officer effective Aug 8.
He will undertake all duties and responsibilities from Li Bin, 59, who relinquished his position due to health reasons.
Zulhazmi, 52, joined HRC in 1994 and has held multiple jobs in projects and turnaround, engineering, and maintenance over the last 25 years, including a regional turnaround role.
He was also involved in the detailed design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of the state-of-the-art long residue catalytic converter unit (LRCCU) project as well as the HIJAU complex for HRC in Port Dickson.
Zulhazmi was appointed as the HRC engineering senior manager from 2011 and was appointed as chief projects officer in 2018.
He later assumed the role of the chief government relations officer in 2019 and support the company in mediating business and operational issues through advice and identifying relevant interventions and strategies, to help resolve critical situations or disputes that involve government, regulation, and legislation.
He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southampton, UK.
