Bridging the gap between Grenada and Africa was a major topic on the agenda at a recent Afro-Caribbean Business Panel Discussion held in Grenada.
Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell said he had the privilege of sitting down with Dr Nadia Adongo Fynn, Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President of Ghana, and Arian Simone, the CEO and Founder of Fearless Fund.

Mitchell stated the discussions were wide-ranging, covering topics from the creative economy to fashion and food, to facilitating travel and trade between Grenada and African countries.
He pointed out that one key highlight was exploring how Grenada can leverage the Ghanaian Diaspora programme to encourage Grenadians to return to their roots and contribute to the development of their beloved nation.
The prime minister stated: “I firmly believe that these connections, particularly the bonds we’ve begun to build with our brothers and sisters in Ghana, hold the key to a brighter, more prosperous future for both nations and the broader Afro-Caribbean community.”
Dr Nadia Adongo Fynn was appointed as Deputy Director for the Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President of Ghana in February 2017.
In an Instagram post she said her visit to Grenada brought immense joy and she can’t wait to return. She is also enthusiastic about forging nurturing ties with the Caribbean.
Dr Adongo Fynn posted: “Having the opportunity to converse with His Excellency Dickon Mitchell, the Prime Minister of Grenada, was a remarkable privilege. Our dialogue encompassed the exploration of strategies aimed at motivating members of the Grenadian Diaspora to return to their native land and play a pivotal role in the nation’s economic progress, aligning with our government’s initiatives. Notably, we delved into the commonalities between Ghana and Grenada, making it a highly productive exchange. I am enthusiastic about the prospect of forging an enduring partnership and nurturing ties within the Caribbean region. My visit to Grenada brought immense joy and I can’t wait to return.”
