Govt reduces planned social security cover for working mums – English

(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 4 – The government has reduced from three
years to one year its cover of social contributions for working
mothers with two children provided for in the 2024 budget bill
now before parliament.

In an errata corrige sent to the Senate on Friday it stipulates
that the cover of up to 3,000 euros a year in social
contributions for working mothers with
two children, with the youngest being under 10, will be
available until December 31, 2024 and not until the end of 2026
as initially proposed.

Instead the proposed provision to cover up to 3,000 euros a year
in social contributions of working mothers with three children
or more, with the youngest up to 18, for three years remains.

The proposed social contributions cover is supposedly part of
government efforts to reverse Italy’s declining birth rate.
