TOKYO — Goldman Sachs Japan President Masanori Mochida will step down soon, Nikkei learned Friday, after helming the Wall Street giant’s Japanese arm for roughly 22 years.

Mochida’s departure from the role was his own decision, according to a person familiar with the matter. Goldman Sachs Japan is believed to be in the process of naming a successor.
