Following the appointment of Angus MacKechnie as its new Creative Director/CEO, Imagineer is seeking to complete its new leadership team with the appointment of the company’s first ever fulltime General Manager who will work closely alongside Angus to shape the company’s future and lead it into its new phase as an NPO (2023-26).

This exceptional role will be responsible to the Board and CEO for the financial and commercial management of the company, creating its Business Plan and developing its income generating activities and profile while ensuring good practice and compliance in HR, GDPR, health and safety and other areas.  Contracting, partnership agreements and stakeholder relationships will also be key areas.

Imagineer is based in Coventry at the newly refurbished Daimler Powerhouse (a new £2.5million creative hub and home to a cohort of established resident creative organisations) and creates extraordinary large scale outdoor work at the intersection of art and engineering, and environmental and social change, with a strong focus on community engagement.   

Candidates should have several years’ experience of working at an established level in the arts and culture sector and be able to demonstrate good financial skills, an enterprising approach and sound management practice.  Familiarity with NPO procedures would be an advantage.  We feel this opportunity would particularly suit those with a background in theatre, live art, installation or large scale events who want to take a key role in the delivery of a spectacular and innovative programme of work.
