Back to the FTSE 100 debate — Sofia has a point but equity investors will need to find good ways of diversifying their portfolios.
There’s no question that the UK is a deeply unloved market but the FTSE 100 has major energy, health-care and staples companies that can still be attractive to UK and global investors, especially given their defensive characteristics.
With investors so under-exposed to this market and valuations so depressed, it looks like doomsday is already priced-in into the UK benchmark, and it wouldn’t take much to give it a lift.
