A standalone changing room designed to resemble a French mailbox and painted in a canary yellow shade has been erected in one of the test post offices in Paris. A chair, mirror, and shelf are located inside for on-the-spot package returns.
According to France’s La Poste, a postal service company, the concept originated from witnessing numerous consumers accept their parcels just to promptly return them because they were ill-fitting. Like many other nations, France has witnessed a surge in online sales of clothing and shoes that are frequently returned by customers. According to La Poste, the initiative goes beyond a simple locker room.
“The idea is to simplify the lives of our clients,” said the company, letting them receive the merchandise, check it out on the spot and, in the event of a poor fit or a change of mind, send it back.
La Poste anticipates increased traffic as a result of the trial. Similar to other national post offices, La Poste aims to increase its package business in order to make up for the decline in letter traffic over time.
