An overall smooth weekend of holiday travel ran into a hiccup as dense fog made it harder for flights to reach Chicago’s Midway International Airport before Christmas Eve. 

Southwest Airlines accounts for over 90% of Midway’s passengers and was the hardest hit as the Federal Aviation Administration stopped or slowed Midway-bound flights Saturday night and throughout much of Sunday.
