City of Tucker officials announced that the city’s inaugural small business expo will come to city hall on April 20.
The event, which a city spokesperson called “Creating Connections”, will bring “experts from local and regional agencies to aid, counsel, and refer small business owners and entrepreneurs to information and resources to maintain and strengthen their company.”
A news release added that among the agencies expected to participate are the U.S. Small Business Administration, WorkSource DeKalb, Decide DeKalb, Small Business Development Center, Atlanta Black Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, Latin American Chamber of Commerce, local lenders and related organizations.
“Business and small business in particular, is at the heart of Tucker’s economy, and we want to do everything we can to help our local businesses survive and flourish,” said Mayor Frank Auman. “Often, awareness and access to resources are commonly cited as major concerns by small business owners.
The event begins at 10 a.m., according to the news release, and concludes at 2 p.m. However, the news release states there is no formal agenda or speakers for the event designed to give attendees more face-to-face time with resource providers and business owners.
“The city wants to forge connections with Tucker’s small business community while also providing insight on current and future support needs for those looking to grow or even start their business,” said Tucker Development Manager Jackie Moffo.
The event will be held at 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 350b. City officials said “registration is strongly encouraged but free.”
