Hull City Council has agreed terms for the first lettings of the stylish new parade of business units at the Boulevard Unit Factory Estate (UFE).
Three businesses are poised to take up residence in the west Hull estate which recently expanded with a £1.5m development.
More local enterprises are lined up to fill the four remaining vacancies, which were funded by the council with support via the Local Employment Partnership from the government’s Getting Building Fund.
Flooring specialists, Sanders Bespoke Flooring, are one of two new tenants which are relocating from start-up space at the adjacent Louis Pearlman Centre.
Its new home will be divided into a warehouse and design studio, which will incorporate their skills and talents within the flooring industry, including their expansion into Luxury Vinyl Tiles, providing a space perfect for showcasing to customers, designers and suppliers.
Owner Jennifer Sanders said: “Our business is now ready for that next step and all that comes with it.
“I can’t thank the staff within the Managed Workspace team enough for all their support and encouragement over the years.
“Thank you to Hull City Council for providing centres like the Louis Pearlman Centre to establish and Boulevard UFE to support our continued growth – without it, we may not be where we are today.
“Our new home will allow us to host workshops, meaning I can pass some of my knowledge within the flooring industry to designers who, when they work with their customers, will have a better understanding of the products we offer and what their clients can expect from us.
“We are very excited for this next venture at Sanders Bespoke Flooring.”
Cllr Paul Drake-Davis, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for regeneration, added: “It’s great news that these new business units are not only complete, but are already welcoming tenants.
“These units will not only support existing businesses, but also help new ones to establish, bringing with them new employment opportunities in the city and strengthening our economy.”
Located at the junction of South Boulevard and Goulton Street, the successful Boulevard UFE is the largest council factory estate in the city and home to over 30 small businesses.
The new parade of units has fully glazed frontages onto Goulton Street and rear loading bay areas, as well as a dedicated car park.
It is the latest addition to the council’s commercial property portfolio of small business accommodation, aimed at helping businesses create wealth and jobs for the local community.
