After much research, Alison discovered that commercially produced products are often made with synthetic ingredients that can cause skin problems.

She has since made it her mission to create products with natural, botanical ingredients minus the toxins and fillers often found in mass produced skincare, and to empower women to make the right choices when choosing products for their skin.

Thrilled with the award win, Alison said: “I never imagined I could be in the running to win the overall star prize of ModernMaker of the Year, so it was a huge shock when I found out.

And to top that off by winning the ethical category again this year was truly humbling.”

The awards are sponsored by TheUrban Vintage Affair and Brandstorm Consultancy, founded by Natasha who has over 20 years of experience in fashion design, development, production, and brand set-up. 2023 marks the second year of the BizBubble Awards and the third win for Bloom In Soap.

Speaking about how she selected the winners, Natasha said: “Businesses that stood out for me were those that offer more, with integrity, who over-deliver beyond their main products or service they are selling. As a judge, I’m also looking out for businesses that make a positive impact on their community and are showing evidence of social responsibility, honesty and transparency through their selling platform, social media and Google searches.

I was also looking for businesses that had the ability to motivate and inspire me and their audience to conjure up inspiring thoughts and ideas and make me go ‘WOW’ regardless of the product or service they are offering to feel a connection. Importantly, when selecting from the finalists, I considered the potential for the business scalability and growth.”
