Fans of the actor Owen Wilson have been shocked to discover he has a famous brother – who starred in one of the best loved films of the noughties.
Owen Wilson is known for his roles in smash hit movies like Zoolander and Wedding Crashers, but he’s not the only Wilson who has frequented the big screen.
People have been shocked to discover that Luke Wilson, who stars in films such as 2001’s The Royal Tenenbaums, 1996 crime comedy Bottle Rocket and 2022’s Look Both Ways, is in fact Owen’s younger brother.
They have been especially rocked by the bombshell that he plays Elle Woods’ love interest alongside Reese Witherspoon in iconic romcom Legally Blonde.
One TikTok user took to the platform and posted a video about the discovery to see if she was the only one to be stunned by this revelation.
TikToker Jemma McCarthy captioned the short clip: ‘TELL ME IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT JUST CLOCKED!?!?
‘Luke Wilson from Legally Blonde n Look Both Ways is bros with the legend Owen Wilson.. guess the name gives it away.’
Others commented on the video in agreement, with one user writing: ‘This is brand new information.’
Another wrote: ‘Now I know why he looks so familiar. Never thought they were brothers.’
Others did not agree however, with one user retaliating with the words: ‘Girllll what!! Everyone knows they brothers. They talk exactly the same.’
Many users may not recognize Luke as he has starred in fewer movies in recent years compared to his brother.
Luke, 51, is the younger brother of 54-year-old Owen. In fact, there is also another brother in the family, who is also an actor.
Andrew – the eldest, aged 58 – has been working in the business since the 1990s, featuring in the likes of movies Bottle Rocket, Fever Pitch and Idiocracy.
He and Luke also directed the 2005 comedy The Wendell Baker Story, which starred Luke and Owen.
The brothers grew up in Texas. Their father was an advertising and television executive, and their mother was a photographer.
