EViiGO has installed the first fast-charging square at a football stadium, located at Eve Asito, home of the Heracles Almelo team. The inauguration was held on the very same day as the national league kicked off.

Visitors can not only charge their electric car quickly but also smartly, as the equipment offers a dynamic tariff that changes depending on the power supply. “Is there much supply of electricity and little demand? Then the charging rate is low. Conversely, is there little supply and high demand? Then the charging rate rises,” specified Jos Nijland, owner of EViiGO.

This system relieves the grid and gives electric drivers the opportunity to charge economically. The operator asked business energy infrastructure specialist Fudura to design, install, maintain and manage the fast charging plaza. 

“We are not the biggest soccer club in the Netherlands. That’s why we always try to do things a little smarter and more innovatively. In addition, as a club we are very committed to regional and social themes such as vitality and sustainability. That made investing in a fast charging plaza a logical step for us,” said Tom Uitzetter, Commercial Manager at Heracles Almelo.

During The National Climate Week, all customers who charge at the new charging plaza will automatically stand a chance to win autographed soccer shirts and VIP football experiences.
